BINDT Basic Radiation Safety Vaal

R14 000,00

Basic Radiation Safety (BRS) – Vaal. For candidates who have completed at least BINDT-approved RT Level 1 and South African Radiation Safety training and wish to also get the Basic Radiation Safety PCN qualification.

SKU: PCNBRS_V Category:

South African Radiographic Testing (RT) is a powerful NDT method that utilises X-rays, a form of high-energy electromagnetic radiation, to reveal hidden flaws within various materials. This technique excels at detecting subsurface defects in components with thinner to medium thickness. RT is ideal for inspecting materials where other methods might struggle, offering valuable insights into the integrity of these components. It is also applicable to a broad spectrum of materials, and a versatile tool for diverse inspection needs.

Important Note: Due to the use of radiation, safety is paramount in RT. This course covers both the theoretical principles and safe practices involved in radiographic testing.

What you’ll gain in a Radiographic Testing training course:

  • Radiation Physics: Grasp the fundamental concepts of radiation and X-ray generation for NDT applications.
  • Film Selection and Processing: Understand the different types of X-ray films and the proper techniques for processing them to obtain clear images.
  • Exposure Techniques: Learn how to manipulate various factors to achieve optimal X-ray exposures for different materials and thicknesses.
  • Image Quality and Interpretation: Develop the skills to analyse radiographs and identify various types of subsurface defects.
  • Safety Regulations and Practices: Gain a thorough understanding of radiation safety protocols and best practices for safe RT operations.

STUDENTS DOING RT PCN WILL NEED TO COMPLETE THE BINDT BRS (Basic Radiation Safety) COURSE AS WELL

Duration

  • Radiation Safety: 4 days (including exam)
